Mark's Testimony

I started a heating and cooling business back in 2006, I broke away from the company I was with and went out on my own. If you have started your own business you know that it is very tough, especially financially. As a result I didn’t have any medical insurance because it was too expensive.

On July 14, 2007 I was working at a local restaurant on one of the air conditioning units and I was on the top of a twelve foot ladder. While I was up there one of the plumbing pipes burst causing the ground to become slick. My ladder slid out form under me, I landed on top of it, and broke my elbow in two places. It hurt very badly and I went home thinking maybe I had just hit my funny bone. But my arm started to swell and I lost the ability to move it. I thought maybe if I just slept on it, it would feel better. However, the next day it was worse and so I went to the emergency room. They took an x-ray of it and found that a piece of radius about the size of a thumb, had chipped off and was floating under my skin. In addition the rest of the radius was fractured. So they sent me to an orthopedic surgeon, saying that I was going to have to have extensive surgery to reconstruct my elbow and to take that piece of bone out. They would not put my arm in a cast because they knew that I was going to have surgery. So they put me in a sling, gave me a lot of medication, and sent me home. I tried to help it with ice packs, heating pads, and painkillers in order to sooth it.

I went to the surgeon and he took more x-rays and found the same problem and again told me that I was going to have to have surgery. In fact he told me that the surgery was going to cost about $12,000, an amount that I could not afford. The bill for just the emergency room and the x-rays there cost $3,000. I prayed and said, “Lord, there is no way that I can afford this. Why would you allow me to start a business, just to let me break my arm, and not have any help?”

So I came back to church 2 weeks after the accident and Pastor Mitchell asked me if I could lead service that night. I agreed to lead through the pain. As I led, the Holy Ghost started to move and I asked the Lord to use me. I started praying for people in the alter area and they were getting what they needed form God. At that point, the devil creped into my mind and starting asking me, “What about you, you have enough faith to help these others, but your arm is still broken. You still have to have surgery.” I replied, “Shut up devil. You are not going to talk to me that way. There is nothing my God can’t do.” I got mad with the enemy and I let him know that he couldn’t steal my victory, it doesn’t belong to him. I went up, grabbed Pastor Mitchell by the arm, and asked him to pray for me. I had a broken arm and I needed that arm healed so I could work, I couldn’t afford to be out of work. I had to go to work the next day whether my arm was broken or not. Pastor Mitchell and I prayed and faith was building, but I didn’t feel anything. The devil tried again to stop me telling me, “You still aren’t moving your arm, God hasn’t done anything.” So I got mad with him again. Pastor was praying a pray of faith and the Bible says a pray of faith shall save the sick. So I took it one step further, I took the sling off and I lifted my hand. It could not move before then, the scar tissue and swelling had locked it in place. I lifted my hands by faith, not knowing if my arm would stretch out. My arm went straight up, just like it had before the accident. My arm was able to turn and bend, I know God healed it. I went home that night, my arm was feeling great and I decided that I wasn’t going to take any more medication, I didn’t want to give Satan a opportunity to say that God didn’t do it, it was just the medicine.

The next day I got up and my arm is great, I went to work with my heavy tool bag. A week later I went back to the orthopedic surgeon and they took x-rays of the same arm. When the nurse brought in the x-rays for the doctor, he looked at them and he got mad with her and told her she x-rayed the wrong arm, she was supposed to x-ray the right arm and not the left arm. She told him that the x-rays were of the right arm. He said, “I don’t know what happened, there isn’t any evidence that there was a broken bone in your elbow, the bone has mended.” Thank God for blessing me and healing my arm.
